New research conducted in Bolivia found that entrepreneurship can help to increase economic mobility.
The paper makes a distinction between entrepreneurs who “start a business just to have a job” and those who found companies to “pursue a profit opportunity.” The researchers found that entrepreneurs who are motivated by opportunity tend to be more economically mobile and have greater levels of health and educational attainment.
